We’re reminding residents to take a few simple steps to help keep your home safe and reduce the risk of burglary:

🔒 Lock up properly
Always lock doors and windows, even if you’re only leaving for a short time.

🚪 Secure doors and windows
Ensure your locks are in good working order and consider upgrading to anti-snap locks where possible.

💡 Make your home look occupied
Use timer switches on lights and leave a radio or TV on when you’re out.

📦 Be cautious with deliveries
Avoid leaving parcels on the doorstep. Consider using trusted neighbours or safe places.

🚗 Keep valuables out of sight
Do not leave items such as keys, wallets, or car keys visible near doors or windows.

🌿 Maintain your property
Trim hedges and fences to remove hiding places and improve visibility.

🤝 Look out for each other
Report any suspicious activity in your area. Working together helps keep our communities safe.

📞 Report non-emergency incidents online or via 101. Always dial 999 in an emergency.
